ROUTINE DENTAL CARE

Here at AA Windward Dental Group, we treat members of the entire family, starting as early as two years old.  We recommend our patients to have a dental check up every 6 months in order to keep up with their oral health.  At your appointment, the doctors address any of your dental concerns, examine your teeth for cavities, check the integrity of your existing restorations (filling, crowns, bridges, etc), montor your gum health, take annual xrays and complete a dental cleaning.  If any dental treatment is recommended, we will inform you of what your options are and answer any questions that you may have.  For more information on oral hygiene instructions and recommended products, see our “Patient Resources” page. To make an appointment for your next dental check-up, give our office a call.  We look forward to seeing you!

EMERGENCY DENTAL CARE

Our doctors and staff understand how dental emergencies are not only painful but can affect your family life, work schedule, and disposition. That’s why we try our hardest to work with your schedule and ours to see you as soon as possible. If we are unable to see you the same day that you contact us, then we try to schedule you within in the next couple of days in order to address your dental needs and get you out of pain. If you’ve got a dental emergency, please don’t wait. Contact our office ASAP so we can we can see you in a timely fashion.

FILLINGS

Routine check-ups and xrays help us diagnose tooth decay. When bacteria infiltrates through the enamel layer and into the dentin, the cavity only gets larger. When we are able to catch them at their early stages, the tooth can be treated with a filling in order to stop the progression of tooth decay. This prevents the patient from developing an infection, experiencing symptoms of sensitivity/pain, and the tooth from needing additional treatments like crowns, root canal therapy, or extractions. We provide both silver/amalgam and white/composite fillings to our patients.

CEREC

CEREC uses CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) technology to create crowns, bridges, veneers, inlays, and onlays for your dental needs. With our CEREC computer, milling device, and oven, we are able to offer our patients same day restorations without compromising the quality of the restoration. The main benefit for patients is treatment timeline.  Traditionally, these types of restorations are fabricated by a lab and take a couple of weeks to complete, requiring multiple visits. With our CEREC technology, you may not have to miss that extra day of work. If you are interested in same-day treatment, please contact our office and let our doctors know at your next visit!

SOLEA

Drs. Thad and Hilari like to keep up with the latest advancements in dental technology. The Solea laser is a perfect example. With this laser, they are given the opportunity to treat small cavities without the use of anesthetic. That means patients don’t have to get a shot and they get to leave the office without having to wait for the numbness to go away! To learn more about what our Solea laser can do, please contact our office and schedule an appointment with us.

EXTRACTIONS

Sometimes the damage to a tooth from decay or infection is too extensive and it can no longer be repaired. In these situations, the tooth must be removed/extracted. Once the tooth is removed, the decision on how to replace it, in order to regain function, needs to be determined. If you would like to know more about how you can replace missing teeth, please let us know at your next dental visit.

DENTURES

Removable appliances, like partial and complete dentures, are used to replace missing teeth. This offers our patients a cost-effective way to replace multiple teeth and allows them to continue to function when it comes to eating and speaking. To see if we can help you function better with partial or full dentures, contact our office and schedule an appointment with us.

IMPLANTS

In order to replace missing teeth, dental implants may be an option. Dental implants have a very high success rate and have the greatest longevity when it comes to dental restorations. A consultation with the specialist (usually an oral surgeon or periodontist) is required to make sure there is enough solid/healthy bone. Then a titanium based screw is placed within the bone of the missing tooth/teeth. After a few months of healing, an impression is taken, the crown is fabricated by the lab, and cemented/screwed into place. If you are interested in replacing missing teeth with implants or would like more information about implants, please let our doctors know at your next visit!
